smoothtouch medispa,
is a graduate of the New York School for Dental and Medical
Assistants, the Berkowits School of Electrolysis, and attended
Rocky Mountain College in Denver, CO. for her laser training.
Marcelle has been in private practice since 1983 . She has a
professional background in working with patients as well as a firmly
based knowledge in the use of sterile techniques. Over the years her
practice has grown to include physicians, nurses, and other health care
professionals among her faithful clientele who appreciate her
professional, caring, personal touch.
She is a member of the:
Marcelle is a Certified Clinical
Electrologist (CCE) and a Certified Medical Electrologist (CME)
from the National Commission for Electrologists Certification, a
Fellow of the Electrolysis Honor Society (FEHS) from the
Electrolysis Society of the North East, a Certified Laser Specialist
(CLS) from Rocky Mountain
College in Denver, CO (Certification through the Colorado State
Department of Higher Education, Division of Private Occupational
Schools, Health Occupations Section, under supervision of the Colorado
State Board of Medical Examiners), a Certified Laser Professional (CLP)
from the Allied Health Association and a member of the American Society
for Laser Medicine and Surgery. What
is certification? Certification, as it is commonly understood in
our society, is a credential earned when someone "stands" for a national
or an international examination. It means these candidates have been
willing to "go the extra mile" to compare their knowledge and skill
against a national norm.
Marcelle's laser training includes a 50-hour
course from Rocky Mountain College, an Advanced 30-hour training course
at the Cosmetic Therapy Training Center in Columbus, Ohio (licensed by
the Medical Board for the State of Ohio) and over 30 hours of intensive
in-service laser training from Candela's Clinical Nurse Consultants,
attendance at multiple Advanced Laser seminars given by the
Candela Corporation , SCMHR
Conferences and the annual meetings
of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.
Joel Kutun, BA, CLS , co-owner, and Director, of
smoothtouch medispa, is a graduate of Long Island University, Nassau
Community College and attended
Rocky Mountain College in Denver, CO. for his laser training.
Joel had been a secondary school teacher (33 years) and has
appeared in Who's Who Among America's Teachers (1998 ed.).
He holds a B.A. degree from Long Island University, is a
Certified Paralegal from Nassau Community College and a Certified
Laser Specialist (CLS) from Rocky Mountain College in Denver, CO
(Certification through the Colorado State Department of Higher
Education, Division of Private Occupational Schools, Health Occupations
Section, under supervision of the Colorado State Board of Medical
Examiners). Joel is also a Fellow of the American Society for Laser
Medicine and Surgery .
Joel's laser training includes a

A. DeAngelo, LME, CLP is a N.Y.S. Licensed Medical Esthetician. A former model with the
prestigious Ford Agency, Joelle is now applying her knowledge of skin
care here at Smooth Touch.
Joelle is a graduate of the Nail & Skin Care
Institute, attended The Dermal Institute and is certified in all phases
of Esthetics including Facials,
Warm Stone Massage, Chemical Peels, Micro-Dermabrasion, Waxing, Lymphatic Drainage & Body
Treatments, soon to included permanent cosmetic makeup. Ms. DeAngelo was formerly employed by renowned dermatologist
Dr. Dennis Gross who created the prestigious Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare
formally MD Skin Care™
product line.
Joelle is also been trained in laser hair removal
which consists of a 30-hour
training course at the Cosmetic Therapy Training Center in Columbus,
Ohio (licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board) as well as
attendance at Candela Corporation's Laser seminars. She is a
Certified Laser Professional (CLP) through the Allied Health
Association.
Dr. Gwenda Kugler, MD performs laser procedures including the removal of vascular
and
pigmented lesions such as spider leg veins, broken
capillaries, age spots, sun
spots and melasma.
Dr. Kugler received her B.A. from the
University of Rochester, Phi Beta Kappa
/ Magna Cum Laude. Her medical education consists of
the following: University of Rochester School of
Medicine and Dentistry - first cohort of the
Rochester Early Medical Scholars Program; New York
University School of Medicine / North Shore
University Hospital - Internship in Internal
Medicine and Residency in Anesthesiology at the New
York Presbyterian Hospital / New York Weill Cornell
Medical Center. She possesses an active New York
State Medical License.
Prior to joining the Smooth Touch family she
was a practicing Anesthesiologist at the Day-Op
Center of Long Island.
